GOOD december blocks.

many moons ago (early december 2008), i was asked to create "toy blocks" that spelled out the word "december," for the GOOD December event. this resulted in a quick trip down la brea blvd. to a local packaging box, where i purchased 8 cardboard boxes of two varying sizes. after assembling the boxes, i taped the down the edges, sealed off gaps, and painted each box with two coats of white paint.

before i taped them.

in process.

almost done.

finished result.

i printed out the letters and cut them out and to use them as stencils. that day, i was fortunate enough to receive the help of a fellow intern. together, we hand painted the letters.

ta da! with our makeshift GOOD tree.

please note that these pictures were taken with my camera phone, so the quality is not the best!

imogene.

for my psychology class, we were asked to write a paper on character development, where we basically create a character and write about their personality. since this is an art school, most students provided drawings of the actual character. i turned in my paper late and barely finished it now, so i didn't want to spend too much time drawing out the character, as i was having difficulty with the body, so i only drew head shots!

i fell in love with the name "imogene" when i read "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" when i was a child. i think imogene was the eldest of the six herdman children, and i was intrigued by them because they lied, stole, and smoked cigars.

urban cowboys.

i was asked to do a last minute illustration for an article on urban explorers, just in case the photos for the article couldn't be used. turns out they didn't need my drawing after all, but i enjoyed doing it!

Manhattan Project.

i made this image last week for this article. i wasn't credited this time, but i have the original file to prove it! the only thing that's changed since i submitted it is the angle of the globe. originally, it was straight.

old sketches.

i started keeping a sketchbook purely for drawing (so i could improve). however, that quickly turned into a sketchbook for doodles and brainstorming homework assignment. i just finished the book, so i'll see if there's anything worthy of posting.

these are some sketches i made in 2008. (click to enlarge.)

drawing of my cat, spyder. i used to play world of warcraft, and my minion belgarth used to say the words in the speech bubble.

another one of spyder, on may 12, 2008. he's pretty fat. i'd say he's about (if not over) 20 lbs. now.

june 30, 2008. drawing of an unsuspecting classmate in my "light and color" class.

more classmates.

i would love to take a drawing workshop in the near future.

GOOD intern recipe.

this is what i worked on at GOOD today. it's an advertisement for internship recruitment, which they published on their blog.

check it out! i made an account on their site (finally) so they could link me directly.

first post.

hi. this blog showcases what i do. i plan on posting drawings and published work, but i might even post pictures i've taken as well. i'm trying to keep this separate from my personal life (i save that stuff for my livejournal), so be prepared for school and internship-related stuff.

whee!
